Aπό σήμερα είναι διαθέσιμες προς κράτηση πτήσεις της Jet2 προς 21 προορισμούς από την 9η βάση της στο Ην. Βασίλειο, στο Στάνστεντ, για το 2017, ανάμεσα στους οποίους είναι και 4 ελληνικοί.

Οι πτήσεις θα εκτελούνται με 6 νέα αεροσκάφη Boeing 737 των Jet2.com και Jet2.holidays, τα οποία παραδόθηκαν την περασμένη εβδομάδα.

Συγκεκριμένα, οι ελληνικοί προορισμοί είναι οι εξής:

Κρήτη (Ηράκλειο) - 3 φορές την εβδομάδα

Κως - 2 φορές την εβδομάδα

Ρόδος - 3 φορές την εβδομάδα

Ζάκυνθος - 2 φορές την εβδομάδα.

Jet2 welcomes the first new Boeing 737-800NG to fleet

In a major milestone on its growth and development strategy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has formally taken delivery of the first of 30 brand new Next Generation 737-800 aircraft from Boeing.

The new aircraft, which seats 189 passengers, was handed over to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays at a special ceremony at Boeing’s Seattle Delivery Centre in the United States.

The aircraft will come into operation in the next few weeks, and is the first of 30 new 737-800 aircraft to be delivered over the next two years.

The aircraft have an approximate list price of $2.9 billion, however the company is believed to have negotiated significant discounts from this price.

The 30 new aircraft will support the ongoing growth at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, which has seen the company launch its biggest ever flights and holidays programme for 2017, and recently announce almost 1,000 roles in pilot, cabin crew and engineering positions in support of this growth.

The aircraft will be operated across the company’s nine UK bases and will take package holiday and flight only customers to sunshine, ski and city destinations.

The delivery is the latest stage in the growth story of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays since flights began from Leeds Bradford Airport in 2003.

Since then, the company has expanded to become the fourth largest registered airline in the UK, flying over six million passengers last financial year and providing friendly low fares to 65 exciting sun, city and ski destinations across Europe from nine UK bases.

This includes its latest bases in Birmingham and London Stansted, which both come into operation in 2017.

Jet2 LS875 B752 returned to Manchester, could not retract landing gear

A Jet2.com Boeing 757-200, registration G-LSAG performing flight LS-875 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Faro (Portugal), was climbing out of Manchester's runway 23L when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet and entered a hold due to being unable to retract the landing gear. The aircraft burned off fuel and landed safely back about one hour after departure.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration G-LSAJ reached Faro with a delay of 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 6 hours after landing.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Manchester as a precautionary measure.

Jet2 opens new base at London Stansted Airport in 2017

Jet2 has announced it will open a base at London Stansted during the spring of 2017. The base will be the leisure specialist's ninth UK base and tenth overall.

"We believe that London Stansted has great potential for our holiday business, serving the populations of North and East London and the East of England," it said.

No tentative figures concerning the number of aircraft to be based out of the airport or possible routes, were revealed.

Jet2 maintains bases at: Belfast Int'l; Birmingham Int'l; East Midlands; Edinburgh; Glasgow Int'l; Leeds/Bradford; Manchester Int'l; and Newcastle in the United Kingdom as well as Alicante in Spain.

Jet2 B738 at Glasgow on Jul 7th 2016, pitch control problems

A Jet2.com Boeing 737-800, registration G-GDFP performing flight LS-189 from Glasgow,SC (UK) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Glasgow's runway 23 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet due to pitch control problems and returned to Glasgow for a safe landing on runway 23 about 35 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration G-LSAD reached Palma Mallorca as flight LS-189A with a delay of 4.5 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered a minor technical problem and returned to Glasgow.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Glasgow 37 hours after landing.

Airline Bans Woman for Life for Ridiculous Behavior

                   

A budget airline has banned one British woman for life for what they deemed “unacceptable behavior” that forced a plane to make an unscheduled landing.

The 42-year old woman was fined $10,000 by Jet2 airline after being “abusive” to the crew and generally disruptive to the flight in a way that could have threatened the safety of other passengers.

“Passengers were inconvenienced on New Year’s Day because this woman’s unacceptable behavior towards our crew caused a substantial delay,” Phil Ward, managing director of Jet2.com told the Mirror. "The safety and welfare of our customers and staff is always our No. 1 priority.”

The flight from New Castle to Tenerife was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Ireland and the woman was handed over to the police.

The airline handed over approximately 50 lifetime bans to abusive passengers last year.

Boeing and UK leisure airline Jet2.com finalised an order today for three Next Generation 737-800s, valued at $288 million at current list prices.

Jet2.com previously ordered 27 Next Generation 737-800s in September 2015 and operates an all-Boeing fleet of more than 60 airplanes.

Jet2.com is a subsidiary of Dart Group PLC, a UK Aim listed leisure travel and distribution group.

The company commenced commercial aircraft operations in 1983 and passenger flights to sun destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport in 2003.

Jet2.com now flies over three million customers each year through a combination of package holidays and flight only services to 55 destinations across 364 holiday resorts from seven Northern departure bases.
