Air Canada is looking for Cabin Crew in Canada, to be based in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver.

Minimum requirements:

• Possess a valid Canadian passport
• Minimum age - 18 years
• High school graduation diploma or equivalent
• Able to meet our medical standards
• Available for shift work and irregular work hours (early morning, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays)
• Available for on-call shifts (holding reserves)
• Willing to adhere to Air Canada’s grooming and uniform standards

Conditions of Employment:

• Willing to participate in and pass the seven (7) week full-time Air Canada Flight Attendant training program in either Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal.
• Able obtain and maintain Transport Canada security clearance. (To obtain this security clearance candidate must undergo a thorough criminal background search and requires a 5-year traceable history). These documents must remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment (see Transport Canada website for additional details)
• Possession of a valid Canadian Passport
• Possess the legal right to travel unrestricted to/from all countries that are served by Air Canada

Language Skills:

• Priority will be given to candidates completely fluent in English and French. (Bilingual)

Air Canada flight AC1159 from Toronto to Calgary diverted to Lethbridge after hail damage

An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Calgary was diverted to Lethbridge Saturday afternoon after hail damaged its windshield.

Spokesperson Angela Mah said flight AC1159, which is an A320 plane, had 144 passengers on board.

"The captain diverted to the closest airport and the flight landed at Lethbridge Airport normally and without issue," Mah said in an emailed statement.

She said ground transportation was arranged to take the passengers to Calgary.

There were no reported injuries.

Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) has finalized an agreement with Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for the order of forty-five CS300s with options for thirty more. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2019 and extend through to 2022.

The purchase was first announced as a Letter of Intent (LOI) in February and follows the Canadian parliament's recent decision to amend the Air Canada Public Participation Act (ACPPA) which governs where the carrier is mandated to carry out aircraft maintenance domestically.

Air Canada rouge began Toronto Pearson-London Gatwick seasonal service. The Montreal-based leisure arm of Air Canada will fly the route daily with 282-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The service will continue through the summer season until October 16.

This new service is part of the Air Canada strategy to build a robust international network from Toronto Pearson with both Air Canada and rouge services.

Passenger traffic at Toronto Pearson increased 5.7% in the first three months of 2016 compared with the same period in 2015 to 9.9 million passengers, of which 6.4 million flew internationally.

Air Canada flight diverted to Calgary following turbulence injuries | Breaking Travel News

A Canada-bound plane has been forced to make an emergency landing after being hit by severe turbulence.

Some 21 passengers, including three children, were injured on board the Air Canada flight AC088 from Shanghai to Toronto, with the aircraft diverted to Calgary after the turbulence hit.

“Our focus today has been on those passengers who have been injured in this incident and those other passengers on the aircraft for whom this has been a very unsettling experience,” said Klaus Goersch, chief operating officer at Air Canada.

“Safety is always our first priority and so any incident involving the safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost concern.

“I would like to acknowledge the flight crew of AC088 whose care and professionalism has been recognised by other passengers and I would like to thank our employees on the ground in Calgary and at other stations for their important contributions in response

“I would also like to thank the various agencies in Calgary who responded to this incident quickly and professionally.

“Their actions in helping us take care of our customers is deeply appreciated.

“We are grateful that the first passengers are already being released from hospital.”

Flight AC088 landed in Calgary at 15:23 MT.

The Boeing 777-300ER was carrying 332 passengers and 19 crew members.

Passengers and crew were immediately met by Air Canada teams and examined by medical personnel. 

Twenty-one passengers were transferred directly to local hospitals from the airport comprising eight with non-life threatening injuries and 13 for observation.

Air Canada is making arrangements to accommodate all passengers including those continuing on to Toronto.

Air Canada is cooperating fully with the Transportation Safety Board in its investigation of this incident.
