A Hong Kong Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration B-LNE performing flight HX-252 from Hong Kong (China) to Taipei (Taiwan) with 257 passengers and 13 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 160nm southwest of Taipei when the crew reported the failure of the #1 engine (PW-4168), drifted the aircraft down and continued to Taipei for a safe landing on runway 23L about 35 minutes later.
