Swiss CS100 near Zurich, failure of air conditioning system

A Swiss Global Airlines Bombardier C-Series CS-100, registration HB-JBA performing flight LX-390 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Manchester,EN (UK), was climbing out of Zurich when the crew stopped the climb at FL280 due to the failure of one of two air conditioning systems but continued the flight towards Manchester. After working the checklists and consulting with dispatch about 20 minutes after levelling off at FL280 now about 60nm east of Paris (France) the crew decided to return to Zurich where the aircraft landed safely on runway 14 about one hour after stopping the climb at FL280.

The airline reported one of the two air conditioning systems on board failed. The aircraft could have continued to Manchester, however, it was decided to return the aircraft to Zurich for better repair options.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration HB-IJR reached Manchester with a delay of 3 hours.
