MIAMI — Mexican low-cost carrier Interjet has announced a daily Cancun – New York flight, to start on September 1.
“We know Cancun is one of Mexico’s most important destinations and an international tourism attraction thus its connectivity is key to continue to encourage its growth and development. The new route will offer travelers the possibility of departing from New York, one of the world’s trade and finance capitals, as well as an air connection center, so they can enjoy the beaches, weather and entertainment of the Mexican Caribbean. With this we will contribute to the consolidation of the trade and tourism relationship between these two important destinations” said Jose Luis Garza, Interjet CEO.
The daily flights will have the following schedules (all local times):
- Cancun-New York: Departing at 18:15, arriving at 23:00.
- New York- Cancun: Departing at 07:00, arriving at 10:05.
Interjet will now serve nine destinations in the United States. To date, the carrier offers flights to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Miami and Orlando (Sanford). The 1,555 mile (2,500 km.) route is now served by American Airlines, JetBlue, Dynamic Airways, Volaris and Aeromexico to New York JFK, while United offers a non-stop Cancun – Newark service.
