Airbus delivered 64 commercial aircraft in June | ATWOnline


Airbus had its biggest delivery month so far this year with 64 commercial aircraft handed over in June to 33 airlines and nine lessors.
Shanghai, China-based Juneyao Airlines took the most Airbus deliveries for the month with four aircraft (two A320ceos and two A321ceos). American Airlines received three A321ceos; Delta Air Lines received two A321ceos and an A330-300; and Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation took three aircraft—an A320ceo each for Jakarta, Indonesia-based low-cost carrier (LCC) Citilink and Indian domestic carrier Vistara Airlines, plus an A321ceo bound for Mexican LCC Volaris.
Airbus booked firm orders for 27 commercial aircraft from five undisclosed customers in June, valued at approximately $3.03 billion at list prices. 
Orders for 11 A320neos, four A321 neos and 12 A321ceos were placed, bringing Airbus’ gross orders total for 2016 year-to-date to 222 aircraft. Subtracting cancellations, Airbus’ net orders total for 2016 through June 30 is 183 aircraft.
The five orders placed by separate undisclosed customers including a June 9 order for eight A320neos, valued at $849.6 million; an order for seven A321ceos, also on June 9, valued at $795.9 million; a June 13 order for five A321ceos, valued at $568.5 million; and two June 30 orders, one for four A321neos, valued at $497.6 million, and another order for three A320neos, valued at $318.6 million.
Two aircraft each were delivered to Dubai-based Emirates Airline (both were A380s, and tipped Emirates total A380 fleet past 80 aircraft); Chinese lessor CALC (two A320ceos bound for Turkish LCC Pegasus Airlines); China Eastern Airlines (an A320ceo and an A321ceo); China Southern Airlines (an A320ceo and an A321ceo); UK-based LCC easyJet (both A320ceos); Denver, Colorado-based LCC Frontier Airlines (both A321ceos); Lufthansa’s LCC subsidiary Eurowings (both A320ceos); Shanghai-based LCC Spring Airlines (both A320ceos); Tibet Airlines (an A320ceo and an A330-200); Turkish Airlines (an A321ceo and an A330-300); Vietnamese LCC VietJet Air (both A320ceos); Mexican LCC VivaAerobus (both A320ceos); and Hungarian regional carrier Wizz Air (both A321ceos).
On June 28, Ethiopian Airlines became the first African carrier to take delivery of Airbus’ widebody A350 XWB. Additionally, Finnair and Singapore Airlines each received an A350-900 XWB during the month. British Airways took delivery of A380 on June 22.
Year-to-date, Airbus has delivered 298 commercial aircraft.
