Brussels Airlines launches Economy Plus – Aviation Gazette



ZAVENTEM – Brussels Airlines introduces its intercontinental fleet Economy Plus. Passengers in the new class have more legroom and can adjust their seat further back. Economy Plus will be furnished in the first four rows of the Economy Class cabin.
Other extras to travelers who choose to upgrade to Eonomy Plus a glass of champagne before the meal. Customers also receive luxury items like toilet bag, warm cloth before meals, linen pillow, blanket and a gift box of Neuhaus chocolates.
The seats in Economy Plus are the same as in regular Economy Class. The seat rows are placed further apart, increasing the leg room. The ‘recline’ of the backrest has been increased from eight to twenty degrees.
For Economy Plus is a fixed fee of 120 euros per one way flight. The surcharge applies to everyone, including passengers who pay a special rate. Currently, there is a special introduction fare of 99 euros. Twenty thousand passengers receive Brussels Airlines in July and August, a free upgrade.
The introduction of Economy Plus seems a logical step for Brussels Airlines. “We saw a growing demand for a product that is between Business Class and Economy Class,” says Lars Redeligx, Chief Commercial Officer, Brussels Airlines. Economy Plus service starts on flights from 1 July.
In total, in all Airbus A330 Brussels Airlines 32 Economy Plus seats available in the first four rows of the Economy Class cabin. On an annual basis will involve 180,000 seats.
