A Lufthansa Boeing 747-400, registration D-ABVM performing flight LH-464 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Orlando,FL (USA), was climbing out of Frankfurt's runway 25C when the crew stopped the climb at FL230 reporting a hydraulic failure. The aircraft entered a hold at FL200 to dump fuel and landed safely back on Frankfurt's runway 25C about 80 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration D-ABVR is estimated to reach Orlando with a delay of 4.5 hours.
Passengers reported the captain announced a hydraulic failure in one of the engines.
The airline reported the aircraft returned due to technical problems, another aircraft is now on the way to Orlando.
