Up/EL AL B738 flight LY2653 returned to Tel Aviv, damaged tyre on departure

An Up Airlines Boeing 737-800 on behalf of El Al, registration 4X-EKM performing flight LY-2653 from Tel Aviv (Israel) to Kiev (Ukraine) with 182 people on board, departed Tel Aviv's runway 26. While climbing out the crew received information that tyre debris (tread of the tyre) had been found on the runway, stopped the climb at 8000 feet and entered a hold to burn off fuel. The aircraft returned to Tel Aviv for a safe landing on runway 26 about 2:40 hours after departure and came to a stop on the intersection of runway 26 and runway 12. The aircraft was towed to the apron.
