Air Astana in summer 2017 season plans to resume Astana – Kiev Borispil operation, based on recent schedule update. Current listing shows the airline once again operates 3 weekly flights, with Embraer E190 equipment. Operational schedule from 01JUN17 as follow.

Air Astana launches services to Tehran - Arabian Aerospace

Air Astana has launched a new non-stop flight from Almaty to Tehran.

Flights will operate three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and will be served by Embraer 190 aircraft. The cabin will feature nine Business Class seats and 88 Economy Class seats.

“I trust that our Iranian guests will enjoy the history and culture of Kazakhstan. Beyond that, Almaty has a lot more to offer with premium ski resorts, year around cultural events, a wide variety of shopping malls and fine dining – all at great value for money. All these attractions are accessible with a flight that is just three and a half hours away from Tehran. The new service connecting Kazakhstan with Iran will provide convenient connections to Air Astana’s CIS and Asian network, in particular to the cities of Beijing and Urumqi,” said Ibrahim Canliel, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Air Astana.

Air Astana has officially been removed from a list of airlines that have faced operating restrictions in the European Union.

In July 2009 all carriers of Kazakhstan were banned from operating to Europe while Air Astana was the only exception.

The EU’s Air Safety Committee had recognised that Air Astana’s safety standards were fully compliant with the international standards and establish a system for safe flights, but had imposed a cap on the airline’s existing number of services to the EU at the time. 

Those restrictions were lifted in February 2014, enabling the airline to expand its European route network. 

Earlier this year Paris was added to its European route network, joining London Heathrow, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

The publication of a new EU Safety List coincides with the EC’s adoption of its new Aviation Strategy for Europe. 

The list is essential to guarantee the highest level of air safety for European citizens, which is a priority of the Commission. 

EU commissioner for transport Violeta Bulc said: “Offering the highest level of air safety to European citizens is a priority of the Commission. 

“I am satisfied that we were able to clear Air Astana after six years of work.

“In the interest of European citizens, we are however forced to maintain other Kazakh carriers on the list.”

Air Astana cleared from European blacklist

                                   

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has removed Kazakhstan’s national carrier, Air Astana, from the European Union (EU) Air Safety List.

Air Astana has faced restrictions on flying into the EU since 2009, but is now free to operate. However, other Kazakh carriers remain on the list, while Iraqi Airways has been added to it following alleged safety lapsesand failure to provide necessary documentation. 

No Thai carriers have been added to the list, despite FAA’s decision todowngrade the Asian nation’s aviation safety rating to Category 2, which will prevent Thai carriers from starting new services to the US.

“The [European] Commission and EASA are willing to continue to work with the Thai authorities to enhance aviation safety in the country,” EASA said in a statement Dec. 10. “The Commission and EASA will, however, closely monitor future developments and, if the protection of air passengers against safety risks so requires, the Commission could then propose to include one or more air carriers from Thailand in the Air Safety List.”

“EASA is encouraged by the Thai government's determination to resolve problems involving the kingdom's aviation industry,” added EASA executive director Patrick Ky.

The updated EU Air Safety List—which will be published Dec. 11—bars 228 carriers across 20 states from EU airspace. In those circumstances, airlines wishing to maintain a service into EU nations normally have to resort to leasing aircraft and crews from a nation that meets EASA standards.

The updated list came as EASA met its partners from Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East in Hong Kong to discuss global co-operation in aviation safety at the fifth meeting of the International Cooperation Forum (ICF).

The ICF is an exchange platform for aviation authorities and regional organizations that have adopted European aviation safety rules. Among topics being discussed in the two-day meeting were technical advances in air traffic management and emerging risks in cybersecurity.

Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή ανανέωσε τη Λίστα Ασφαλών Πτήσεων - 'Καθαρή' η Air Astana, στοπ στην Iraqi Airways

Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή ανανέωσε τη λίστα EU Air Safety List, η οποία περιλαμβάνει τις αεροπορικές εταιρείες στις οποίες απαγορεύεται να πετούν ή πετούν με περιορισμούς εντός του εναέριου χώρου της ΕΕ. Σύμφωνα με την πλέον πρόσφατη έκδοση της λίστας, αποκαθίστανται οι πτήσεις της Air Astana του Καζακστάν, αλλά προστίθεται στη λίστα η Iraqi Airways του Ιράκ.

Η συγκεκριμένη λίστα είναι απαραίτητη για την εγγύηση του υψηλότερου επιπέδου αεροπορικής ασφάλειας για τους Ευρωπαίους πολίτες, κάτι που αποτελεί προτεραιότητα για την Επιτροπή. Συμπληρώνει το νέο σύστημα αδειοδότησης για τους αερομεταφορείς τρίτων χωρών, το οποίο σταδιακά τίθεται σε εφαρμογή από τον Ιούνιο του 2015 και θα ενισχύσει περαιτέρω την ασφάλεια των αερομεταφορών, ενώ θα μειώσει της γραφειοκρατία.

Ο ενημερωμένος κατάλογος ασφάλειας των αερομεταφορών της ΕΕ αποκαθιστά τον αερομεταφορέα του Καζακστάν Air Astana, του οποίου οι πτητικές δραστηριότητες στην ΕΕ είχε περιοριστεί από το 2009. Από την άλλη πλευρά, προσθέτει στη λίστα την Iraqi Airways, λόγω άλυτων προβλημάτων ασφάλειας.

Η Επίτροπος της ΕΕ για τις Μεταφορές Violeta Bulc δήλωσε: “Η προσφορά του υψηλότερου επιπέδου ασφάλειας πτήσεων για τους Ευρωπαίους πολίτες αποτελεί προτεραιότητα της Επιτροπής. Τη περασμένη Δευτέρα ανανεώσαμε τους κανόνες ασφάλειας της ΕΕ, ως μέρος της αεροπορικής στρατηγικής της ΕΕ και σήμερα ενημερώνουμε τη Λίστα Ασφάλειας των Αερομεταφορών της ΕΕ. Είμαι ικανοποιημένη για ότι μπορέσαμε να αποκαταστήσουμε την Air Astana μετά από έξι χρόνια προσπαθειών. Για το συμφέρον των Ευρωπαίων πολιτών είμαστε όμως αναγκασμένοι να διατηρήσουμε άλλους αερομεταφορείς του Καζακστάν στον κατάλογο και να προσθέσουμε την Iraqi Airways”. 

Αυτήν τη στιγμή δεν υπάρχουν αεροπορικές εταιρείες της Ταϊλάνδης που έχουν προστεθεί στη λίστα. Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή και ο Ευρωπαϊκός Οργανισμός Αεροπορικής Ασφάλειας (EASA) είναι πρόθυμοι να συνεχίσουν να συνεργάζονται με τις αρχές της Ταϊλάνδης για την ενίσχυση της ασφάλειας της αεροπορίας της χώρας. Ωστόσο, η Επιτροπή και ο EASA θα παρακολουθούν στενά τις μελλοντικές εξελίξεις και, εφόσον το απαιτεί η προστασία των επιβατών των αεροπορικών εταιρειών απέναντι σε κινδύνους ασφαλείας, η Επιτροπή θα μπορούσε τότε να προτείνει να περιληφθεί ένας ή περισσότεροι αερομεταφορείς από την Ταϊλάνδη στη λίστα.

Ο ενημερωμένος κατάλογος ασφάλειας των αερομεταφορών της ΕΕ -η οποία δημοσιεύθηκε σήμερα, 11 Δεκεμβρίου- περιλαμβάνει όλες τις αεροπορικές εταιρείες (σύνολο 228), που είναι πιστοποιημένες σε 20 κράτη. Αυτό συμβαίνει λόγω της έλλειψης εποπτείας ασφάλειας από τις Αρχές Πολιτικής Αεροπορίας στα ακόλουθα κράτη: Αφγανιστάν, Αγκόλα (με την εξαίρεση μιας αεροπορικής εταιρείας που εκτελεί πτήσεις υπό περιορισμούς και όρους), Μπενίν, Δημοκρατία του Κονγκό, Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία του Κονγκό, Τζιμπουτί, Ισημερινή Γουινέα, Ερυθραία, Γκαμπόν (με την εξαίρεση δύο αεροπορικών εταιρειών που εκτελούν πτήσεις υπό περιορισμούς και όρους), Ινδονησία (με την εξαίρεση 4 αεροπορικών εταιρειών), Καζακστάν (με την εξαίρεση της Air Astana), Δημοκρατία της Κιργιζίας, Λιβερία, Λιβύη, Μοζαμβίκη, Νεπάλ, Σάο Τομέ και Πρίνσιπε, Σιέρα Λεόνε, Σουδάν και Ζάμπια. Επιπλέον, ο κατάλογος περιλαμβάνει δύο μεμονωμένες αεροπορικές εταιρείες, για τις οποίες εκφράζονται ανησυχίες για την ασφάλεια των πτήσεών τους, την Iraqi Airways (Ιράκ) και την Blue Wing Airlines (Σουρινάμ), ανεβάζοντας το συνολικό ποσό των αεροπορικών εταιρειών που απαγορεύεται να πετούν στους ουρανούς της ΕΕ σε 230.

Ο κατάλογος περιλαμβάνει επίσης επτά αεροπορικές εταιρείες που υπόκεινται σε περιορισμούς λειτουργίας. Οι εταιρείες αυτές μπορούν να πετούν μόνο στην ΕΕ με συγκεκριμένους τύπους αεροσκαφών. Πρόκειται για τις: Afrijet και SN2AG (Γκαμπόν), Air Koryo (Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία της Κορέας), Air Service Comores (Κομόρες), Iran Air (Ιράν), TAAG Angolan Airlines (Αγκόλα) και Air Madagascar (Μαδαγασκάρη).
