American Airlines have just opened a contemporary new-look lounge in one of their key destinations, London’s Heathrow Terminal 3. This is just one of the many locations to receive some love that American Announced at the beginning of the year.
Gone is the drab traditional interior, instead, there is an almost Mad Men feel to the main space. It has been “meticulously designed” and offers complimentary services to “refresh and revitalise”, including 29 spa-like shower rooms kitted out with C.O. Bigelow toiletries, and an express clothes pressing service.
The new lounge is the perfect pit-stop before heading into town to refresh before a meeting. It’s designed with business travellers in mind. There is a business centre and also a meeting room for those that require time to prepare for the day ahead.
“Our newly designed Arrivals Lounge reaffirms our presence and commitment to enhancing the customer experience in London, the city that pioneers international premium travel” said Gemma Ward, Manager Premium Customer Services – Europe and Asia Pacific.
It’s not just the hard product that has been refreshed. As part of the enhancement programme, American has extended its partnership with esteemed culinarians Rhubarb to provide a fresh and dynamic menu for the lounge. The London stalwart has designed a specially crafted seasonal menu for American Airlines, alternating every four weeks including Eggs Benedict, superfood salads, fresh fruit smoothies and even protein pancakes.
This will be welcome news to the passengers on the 19 daily flights to London from the US, who previously had a somewhat drab lounge offering in T3 or access to British Airways’ arrival lounge which is a short (but inconvenient) connection away in Terminal 5.
The lounge opens 5am and closes at 3.30pm, and open to passengers arriving on a same-day flight in First and Business Class as well as Advantage Executive Platinum / oneworld Emerald SM members and British Airways Premier members.
