The airline had suspended operations on this sector on Saturday after Turkey was hit by political instability due to coup attempts against the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday night.
Turkish Airlines flies twice a day on Tuesdays and Saturdays and daily on other days on the Muscat-Istanbul sector.
Mehmed Zingal, general manager of Turkish Airlines in Oman said, “The situation is under control back home and normal operations have started at the Istanbul airport.
“Our flights on the Muscat-Istanbul sector are as per schedule from Tuesday.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Omani nationals in Turkey are safe. We urge our nationals to stay away from the sites of skirmishes and contact the embassy in Ankara and the consulate in Istanbul in the case of any emergency.”
