A) A United Boeing 767-300, registration N677UA performing flight UA_125 from Athens (Greece) to Newark,NJ (USA), was climbing out of Athens' runway 03R when the crew stopped the climb at FL110 reporting a leading edge slat asymmetry. The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Athens for a safe landing on runway 03R at a higher than normal speed (180 knots over ground) about 70 minutes after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Athens for about 24 hours, then departed again as flight UA-2088, however, needed to return again due to the same problem, see below
B) A United Boeing 767-300, registration N677UA performing flight UA-2088 from Athens (Greece) to Newark,NJ (USA), was climbing out of Athens' runway 03R when the crew stopped the climb at FL080 again reporting a leading edge slat asymmetry. The crew requested police and emergency doctors on standby due to seriously upset and unruly passengers. The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Athens for a safe landing on runway 03R at a higher than normal speed (180 knots over ground) about 50 minutes after departure.
The aircraft had already returned to Athens for the same problem the previous day.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Athens about 12 hours after landing.
