A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration TC-JUG performing flight TK-2706 from Istanbul to Erzurum (Turkey), was climbing out of Istanbul's runway 35L when the crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet due to a bird strike. The aircraft returned to Istanbul for a safe landing on runway 05 about 11 minutes after departure.
A replacement A319-100 registration TC-JLM reached Erzerum with a delay of 2 hours.
The occurrence aircraft resumed service on Aug 27th 2016 after about 65 hours on the ground.
