Amsterdam's Easyjet Pilots Strike on August 11, 2016

Unfortunately, we have been advised that easyJet pilots based in Amsterdam who are members of the VNV trade union, intend to strike on 11/08/2016 between 05:00 and 10:00 Amsterdam local time.

This is the third strike the VNV have announced and we have been given only a few hours’ notice which makes it impossible for us to arrange alternative flying arrangements.

Whilst we try to minimise the impact of the strike on our customers, unfortunately we will have to cancel some of our flights. We very much regret this. We will communicate directly to the customers affected via SMS and email using the details provided at the time of booking.

For your background, we have been working closely with the VNV to negotiate a collective labour agreement and are very keen to find a solution. Our latest offer represents a significant improvement compared to earlier proposals so it is disappointing that this unnecessary action will affect our passengers travelling through Amsterdam. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the strike.

What to do if a flight is delayed?

The most up to date information for all customers will be available on our flight tracker, which can be checked on the mobile app or on easyJet.com/XXXX (Your flight number). We advise checking flight tracker before travelling to the airport.

What to do if a flight is cancelled?

We will contact customers via email and SMS using the details provided at the time of booking.

For cancelled flights only, we advise customers not to travel to the airport but to transfer their flights free of charge or take a refund by logging onto Manage Bookings on easyJet.com or our Flight Tracker: easyjet.com/XXXX(Your flight number).

If an overnight accommodation is required, affected passengers can book this on Thursday through our Flight Tracker page easyjet.com/XXXX (Your flight number).

Customers will be entitled to claim for some expenses, further information is detailed here http://www.easyjet.com/en/help/at-the-airport/delay-and-cancellations.

Reimbursement of expenses can be claimed by using this link http://www.easyjet.com/en/help/contact-us/email to our Web form and selecting expenses claims in the drop down list.

We once again apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.
