Southwest B737 near Roatan on May 29th 2016, smoke in cabin due to electrical fault



A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N7838A performing flight WN-607 from San Jose (Costa Rica) to Baltimore,MD (USA) with 140 passengers and 8 crew, was enroute at FL380 near Roatan Island (Honduras) when the crew decided to divert to Roatan reporting smoke in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely in Roatan. 

A fault in an electrical system was identified as cause.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 19 hours after landing.
